Everyone must check-in at the concession stand upon arriving at the Minden Tennis and Aquatic Club.

Swimming Pool Hours

2014 Swimming Pool Hours

Pool hours for the 2014 season:
5/17/14-5/18/14
Saturday: 2 p.m.-7 p.m.
Sunday: 2 p.m.-6 p.m.
5/24/14-8/10/14 (Regular Summer Hours)
Monday-Friday: 2 p.m.-9 p.m.
Saturdays: 11:30 a.m.-9:30 p.m.
Sundays: 2 p.m.-7 p.m.
*July 4: Pool will be open 2 p.m.-7 p.m.
8/16/14-9/21/14 (Weekends Only)
Saturdays: 2 p.m.-7 p.m.
Sundays: 2 p.m.-6 p.m.

******PLEASE NOTE: The pool will close at 7 p.m. on Tuesdays before home swim meets so staff can set up. The pool may also close early due to inclement weather. Please see our Inclement Weather Policy below.******

Swimming Lane

A swimming lane is available on Tuesday and Thursday nights (time to be announced). Please call ahead so that the lane rope may be put in. This lane is for experienced swimmers.

Kiddie Pool

A kiddie pool is available for children under the age of 6.

Pool Safety Rules

1) Pool managers will be in charge at all times.

2) Lifeguards are to be obeyed at all times. Lifeguards have the authority to make children "sit out" for a period of time and/or remove a child for the day if a child is being unruly.

3) Parents are not to distract the lifeguards. Issues may be taken up with the pool manager.

4) No running, pushing, or unsafe play around the pool or unsafe play in the pool.

5) No glass objects or containers allowed inside the pool area.

6) No chewing gun, eating of food, or drink containers allowed in or at the edge of the pool.

7) Only (1) person on the diving board at a time.

8) No one should go off the diving board until the person in front of them has reached the ladder. Swimmers must leave the diving area by the right ladder.

9) Only (1) bounce on the diving board.

10) No diving in the shallow end of the pool to lifeguard stand.

11) In the deep end of the pool: No arm floatation devices. Only jacket-types allowed. No toys, other equipment or goggles allowed in the deep end.

WARNING: Your use of the diving board is at your own risk.

Slide Tube Rules

1) No backward sliding - frontward sliding only. Feet first when using the shallow end slide.

2) Only (1) person on the slide at a time. Only (1) person on the ladder waiting at a time.

3) Make sure no one is in front of the slide before sliding down.

4) When exiting the water, use the ladder on the left side in the deep end.

5) Do not try to stop inside of the tube.

6) Persons must leave the splash areas immediately after sliding.

7) Do not climb on the slide or platform equipment.

8) No toys, equipment, etc. on the slides.

WARNINGS: Slides and supports can become extremely hot; therefore, a parent or child should check out slide before use. To safely use the tube slide, each of the above rules must be followed. Failure to follow the above safety rules may cause you to suffer severe injury, including paralysis or death. Your use of the slides is at your own risk.

Inclement Weather Policy

In the event of bad weather, there is a two (2) hour waiting period that may be enforced at any time. Also, the pool may be closed due to unsafe weather. The pool manager on duty is responsible for enforcing this policy.

Lightning: If lightning is seen within the area of the club, swimmers must clear the pool for 30 minutes. If more lightning is seen within the first 30 minutes, another 30 minutes of waiting time is added. The pool manager on duty is responsible for enforcing this policy.

All inclement weather policies are in effect for the safety of our members and guests.

Tennis Court Hours

Hard Court Hours:

7 a.m.-10 p.m. daily all year long

 

Clay Court Hours:

8 a.m.-10 p.m. daily all year long

Note: Clay courts may be closed if wet. They must be dry or surface damage may occur.

 

Please brush the clay courts after each use. Be courteous to the next players.

 

Tennis Court Rules

 

1) Rules of common courtesy and good sportsmanship will apply at all times.

2) No profanity.

3) No alcohol.

4) No bikes, skateboards, scooters, four-wheelers, heelys, hard-sole shoes, high-heels, basketball shoes, or spikes are allowed on the courts.

5) The courts are for tennis only -- no other playing such as baseball, tag, running, football, or playing with the nets is allowed.

6) Clay courts: No one under the age of 14 is allowed without an adult.

7) Court #4 (has practice board) is reserved for the Club Teaching Pro. There will be a schedule posted when this court will be in use. When the court is not in use, it may be used for play or for practice.

8) There will be a dry erase board at the courts labeled for each court. You are expected to write down the time when you go onto your court.

9) If you finish your play and there is no one waiting, you may sign in again.

10) Persons not signed in shall be subject to immediate "bumping".

11) Each court session is not to last more than 2 hours.

12) Tournaments and special events sponsored by MTAC will be given priority.

13) Guest policy is in effect (see below).

Members' Play Nights - Tennis

(Ages 18 and Up/Singles and Doubles)

Men's Night: Mondays/6:30-9:30 p.m.

Ladies Night: Thursdays/6:30-9:30 p.m.

Stingrays Swim Team

MTAC is proud to sponsor and serve as home to the Stingrays, Mindenís own competitive swim team for individuals ages 5-18 years. Sign-ups for swim team are in mid- to late-April each year with the season beginning in June. You must be able to swim prior to signing up. Concessions and Picnic Tables Are Available!

Concession Stand

MTAC's concession stand is open daily for your convenience and features a full variety of food and drinks. Just a few of the items available at the concession stand are:

  • Sodas, Hot Pockets, Nachos, Beef Jerky, Pepperoni Pizza Sticks, Powdered Donuts, Pickles, Candy Bars/Candies, Chips, Freeze Pops, Blue Bell Ice Cream Bars, Ice Cream Sundaes

Pre-Paid Concession Account: Parents may pre-pay on a concession account for their children. Money will be deducted from this account with each purchase by the individual(s) authorized on the account. For more information, contact the pool manager or assistant managers.

Pool Parties

Are you a MTAC member and need a place to have a birthday party? Contact Emily Walker at 377-9779 (mtacswimcoach@hotmail.com) to reserve your date.

Birthday Parties: $50 for 2 hours with 25 child max.

Covered area will be reserved for your party. Parties must be held during normal pool hours due to lifeguard regulations. Pool will remain open to members during parties.

Parties are subject to all pool rules and weather rules. If party is rained out within the first 30 minutes, a full refund will be given.

Note: Parties for ball teams are no longer allowed.

All dues must be paid in full before birthday parties can be held at MTAC.

Swimming Lessons

Swimming lessons are offered in July of each year (following the Stingrays swim team season) to both members and non-members. Watch our "News and Events" page for more information. Sign up at the concession stand.

Guest Policy for Swimming Pool and Tennis Courts

Guests are the sole responsibility of the member that he or she accompanies. Upon arrival at MTAC, members must check all guests in with the manager on duty. All guests must be accompanied by the member at all times.

POOL GUESTS: Guests who live within a 20-mile radius of Minden may be admitted 2 times a month if accompanied by a member. Guests must pay a $5 fee. Guests who live outside of a 20-mile radius of Minden may be admitted 4 times a month if accompanied by a member. Guests must pay a $5 fee.

TENNIS GUESTS: Guests who live within a 20-mile radius of Minden will not be admitted. Guests who live outside of a 20-mile radius of Minden must pay a $5 fee.

Guest fees are to be paid to the manager on duty. Guest fees are used to help MTAC make improvements. Please make sure all guest fees are paid at the concession stand. In the event the concession stand in closed, please place your payment in the designated box under the tennis pavilion.

We want guests to come and see what a great place MTAC is; however, our goal is to encourage guests to become members of the club. A strong, active membership is the only way to keep MTAC flourishing.
